Here is the programme of "Ring Round The Moon". It appears that it was directed by Pat Foulds, as I had remembered (otherwise she would have to have been just awfully bossy!) I recall there were various fun and games during the production - the play was re-christened "Ring Round The Bath" by some trusty stalwarts of the cast hiding in the green room when not needed elsewhere.
Frankie and I had to dance a tango for one scene (it's a wonder that didn't
become known as Last Tango In Houghton Street.) The delectable Mally Fletcher
had to do a very quick costume change between scenes, getting undressed right
down to her underwear, stockings and suspenders. Ever willing to help, I volunteered
to be her dresser for this process, but by the time of the production she had
got the hang of doing the change unaided. Sigh
One interesting thing about this programme is that on the back page it lists
previous Sefton productions going back to 1977 - a must for archivists, if they
have not got this information already.
